Get Paid To Post On Twitter
Twitter.com is a social networking site that has been increasing in popularity. When I first signed up almost a year ago, I didn't understand what it was all about. Why would I want to post one sentence updates of what I'm doing throughout the day?
I certainly get it now. Twitter is less time consuming than some of the other social sites. It is also a good way to network and promote yourself, make new friends, and keep in touch with your existing friends. And I am not the only one who thinks this way. People sign up every day and you can even update from your phone or web browser.
With the success of the site comes another angle - you can actually start getting paid to post on Twitter. Here are some ideas:
PayPerTweet Sites
The term "tweet" refers to the one sentence updates the users give each other. Darren Rowse of Problogger.com posted on his blog indicating that he was going to start a business venture bringing advertisers together. Stay tuned for the debut of his site and other sites just like it.
The benefit of using "Pay Per Tweet" sites is that you can find a large number of advertisers who will want you to post twitter updates about the company. The downside is that the site owner may be taking a commission. If you had found the advertiser on your own, you'd be able to pocket all of that cash.
Start Your Own Pay Per Tweet Site
You can also start your own "Pay Per Tweet" company. When this "Pay Per" phenomenon started with blogging, there were only one or two businesses. Now, there are several to choose from. If you get started early you can turn this into a profitable business. As more and more business owners realize how powerful twitter really is, they'll be eager to jump on board.
Find Advertisers Yourself
If you post to twitter often and have a large number of friends and followers, you probably won't have any problem finding advertisers. The more followers that you have, the easier it will probably be to find people who will pay you to post about their business.
No matter what you charge, it will be very lucrative. If it takes you one minute to write a post and the advertiser pays you $5, that translates to $300 an hour!
How to Find Twitter Advertisers
Here are some ideas on how to find advertisers who will pay you to post about them on your Twitter account.
- Post an announcement on your blog or website saying you are advertising on your account.
- Use classified ads and submit them to Craigslist, USfreeads, etc.
- Write a press release and submit it to PRWeb.com.
- Contact the businesses or site owners directly.
Those are just a few ideas. Just remember - if you do decide to advertise on your twitter account, you owe it to your followers to choose businesses you believe in and let them know you are getting paid to promote it.
