Do Not Go Away From Your Quarters Without An MP3 Player

Today we live in a world where we want to listen to music wherever we go. While some can listen to them over the radio or their local component systems, some people just raise the bar a bit and this is through possession of portable music players we have today. People have various reactions with regards to getting a portable music player. But the thing is, people just have needs they want satisfied and this is through music that they want to hear wherever they go.

A music player is so small it can fit inside your closed hand. Measuring a few inches in length and breadth and only a few millimeters in width, even the largest music player is smaller than your cell phone.

There are many brands of MP3 players available. Each brand has its own price range and features available. You can even get an MP3 player which gives you the option to play music videos. You not only enjoy the music, you can even enjoy its video now. Of course these will be a little larger in size and cost more than the simple audio MP3 players.

Media players are basically of two types, audio and audio-video. As you are well aware, the more advanced the gadget is, the higher will be the cost. But the choice of which media player you buy depends on your needs. Whichever one you select, you are probably asking why do you need an media player in the first place?

Why do you need an MP3 player? If you are a music lover and need to have your music besides you at all times, then MP3 player is definitely the next step for you. You can carry hundreds and thousands of songs on the move, held inside your fist (so to speak). You can convert your entire CD collection into one portable MP3 player.

Media players are available in all sizes and models, all brands and price range. From key ring to palmtop size, you can buy the media player to suit your personality and requirement.

It does not require you to be a technology expert to use MP3 player. All you need to know is how to transfer data from your computer to an external device. It can sometimes be as simple as 2 clicks on the computer keyboard.

If you are not a music lover and prefer movies over music, you can select an MP3 player with video capability. You can watch movies on the go. You just need to download MP3 versions of the movies. Same holds true if you enjoy music videos. May be you are a person who likes to be visually stimulated while listening to music. An MP3 player is a great way of watching music videos while you are on the move.

A computer is all that is needed to convert your music, videos and pictures into MP3 compatible form. Your MP3 player becomes your portable library. Music is available for free or a small fee on the internet. You need to download it and then store it in your MP3 player.

You can say goodbye to boring silent commutes forever. Why just commutes? An MP3 player makes a great companion for you at all times, whenever and wherever you are in the mood to listen to music.

Bruce Lee In The UFC

Thanks to YouTube, I can get a quick dose of motivation to either train or head for the work out equipment, from a short video clip of Bruce Lee. Although the results can fluctuate by the minute, entering Lee's name produces 31,900 video clips to view. This is currently more than any other martial art movie star. However, with the thousands upon thousands of video clips of different topics available, each one also allows viewers to post their comments and herein lies the intrigue.

The majority of the comments for Lee's clips appear to be positive and praising, seemingly from new admirers who were not even a thought in their parent's young adolescent minds yet when the "Little Dragon" was alive and (literally) kicking. Then, of course, there are those comments from the insecure martial art "experts", internet tough guys, who go out of their way to view Bruce Lee video clips in order to leave ignorantly rude and immature comments. I believe we are all entitled to our own opinions, which is why I am mainly referring to the comments that would normally entail censorship. Some of the more mild statements however, are the assertions that Bruce Lee was: "Over rated", "fake", "just a Hollywood actor", "gay", or that he was not a "real fighter" because he never competed in tournaments.

The comments led to comparisons of UFC fighters and that led to the opinion that Lee would have been "destroyed" if he fought in the UFC octagon. They believe because Jet Li admitted he would have been "killed" if he actually fought in the octagon, as depicted in his film Cradle to the Grave, then it must surely apply to Bruce Lee as well.

Now, I'll be the first to admit there are many Bruce Lee fans that think Lee was the totally invincible fighter who could not be beaten by anyone, based on his movies. Although those who knew him state he could actually do many of the things he did in his films, true fans would enlighten themselves to realize Lee meticulously choreographed those fight scenes, therefore he naturally dominates all of his opponents in his films. I believe Lee Jun Fan (Bruce Lee's birth name) and his performance in a UFC match should be viewed as realistically as possible without movie fantasy.

First, it should be cleared up that Lee was not an unbeatable, invincible fighter. Ed Parker Jr., son of the late Kenpo karate master, revealed an incident that most Lee fans may not be aware of. While a young Bruce Lee was still filming episodes of the Green Hornet, Gene LeBell managed to get him into a hold that he could not get out of. Supposedly, this incident prompted Lee to begin learning the grappling arts in earnest. I'm sure many will immediately imagine Royce Gracie quickly taking Lee down, easily putting him into a armbar and forcing him to tap out. At this point, it is a plausible scenario.

Indeed, it is difficult to picture a man, 5' 7 ", approximately 138lbs, with a muscular yet slender build, stepping into the octagon cage where his opponent, 6' 2", 228lbs, with a thick heavily muscular build, stands waiting (and possibly growling). By most accounts, the outcome may seem painfully predictable, yet anyone with any wisdom realizes the outcome actually depends on the man in question.

"To me, totality is very important (...) Many styles claim (...) they can cope with all types of attacks (...) if this is true, then how did all the different styles come about?"

-Bruce Lee

Not since Mike Anderson introduced the World Full-Contact Karate Championship in 1974, has a martial art event been as popular as the UFC; and dedicated fans know there have been many matches where a larger, more muscular man has been defeated, even knocked out, by a smaller or less muscular opponent who had better fighting skill. I've witnessed this myself. Was Lee skilled enough to pull that off in the UFC? Those who knew, trained and sparred with him equated Bruce Lee with exceptional skill.

"For his size and weight, Bruce was one of the strongest people-pound for pound-I have ever met. I think he could have beaten a lot of people much heavier and much stronger than he was. He would have done extremely well in competition (...) He was that skillful."

- Mike Stone

"...it was obvious that he possessed qualities which were exceptional...In my opinion, his caliber of talent was one in two billion."

- Ed Parker

"I don't know how Bruce did it. He moved in so fast, before you could even get set."

- Jhoon Rhee

"Bruce asked me to spar with him. I couldn't touch him. Every time I tried to move, bang, I was the one being hit! He was very light on his feet, very deceptive and evasive."

- Larry Hartsell

"I don't think there was anyone in Hong Kong who could have nailed him with a punch."

- Joe Lewis

Lee's ideology has also been effectively proven several times, in non-contact and full-contact kickboxing competition, by Joe Lewis. Okay, so Lee could hit fast and hard, the Gracies proved jujitsu grappling is a major key to victory in the octagon. How would Bruce Lee have handled that? Those who know anything about Bruce Lee's realistic approach to combat are aware he had over 33 grappling maneuvers in his repertoire. In other words, he was also skilled on the ground, perhaps due to the Gene LeBell incident.

"He (Lee) was very good friends with Wally Jay, Gene LeBell and Hayward Nishioka. It's a fact that Bruce learned a lot of grappling from these men."

- Larry Hartsell

"...one minute he (Lee) could look like any kicking system and at middle range, he could explode like a savage street-fighter or a western boxer. And when he got in tight, it looked like Wing Chun. And then when he'd go to the ground, it looked like jujutsu. He was a good grappler also. Despite his lightweight, he was very quick. I think he probably received training from various (...) people and (...) from Gene LeBell (...) and he probably learned a lot of jujutsu from maybe Wally Jay."

- Dan Inosanto

Lee's personal approach to combat, popularly known as Jeet Kune Do, has also been called "scientific or sophisticated street-fighting". Doesn't that sound like something suited for UFC competition? It may seem that "Jeet Kune Do" stylists have entered the octagon cage before and were soundly defeated by Royce Gracie. If you are having trouble recalling their names, so am I. While they may have been tough fighters, it is doubtful they were truly qualified to represent Jeet Kune Do. Of course, even the most qualified are still not the iconoclastic Bruce Lee. It would be similar to saying that when a boxer trained by Muhammad Ali loses a match, it means Ali was not really a great boxer. Thus, it should be evident now the belief that Lee's quick demise in the UFC cannot be so cut and dry predictable.

"Size is never a true indication of muscular power and efficiency. The smaller man usually makes up for the imbalance of power by his greater agility, flexibility, speed of foot and nervous action. (...) once you go into action and grapple with an opponent (...) keep moving faster than he and pay absolutely no attention to his size, fierce facial contortions, or his vicious language. (...) attack your opponent at his weakest points, which are mainly gravitational, throwing him off balance, and applying leverage principles so that his body, and the limbs of his body, are used toward his own defeat. 'The bigger they are, the harder they fall.'"

- Bruce Lee

Some of the comments of the internet tough guys pertain to Bruce Lee as a "fighter". Did Bruce Lee have any "real" fighting experience? In The Legendary Bruce Lee by the editors of Black Belt magazine, M. Uyehara's article; Bruce Lee The Man, The Fighter, The Superstar, reveals Lee's gang-banger background where his gang carried chains, pen-knives and razor blades attached to their shoes, in "a city of ghettos" where no-holds-barred rooftop matches were the norm.

"He had quite a few fights. A lot of people were jealous of him. Most of his fights were for real."

- Larry Hartsell

Linda Lee, Bruce Lee's wife, tells of the challenge made by a kung fu expert in her book The Bruce Lee Story. Pregnant at the time, she watched as Lee not only accepted the challenge to fight, he threw down the gauntlet demanding nothing less than an all out fight with no rules. "In less than a minute" Lee achieved the upper hand and was soon chasing his opponent, repeatedly punching the back of his head. About another minute later, Lee finally took his opponent down and forced a submission from him. Years later, the challenges would continue...

"...he told Bruce that he was a phony, that he was just a "movie" karate man, and that he really wasn't a good martial artist. (...) The kid jumped down and really started trying to take Bruce out. This kid was good. He was no punk. He was strong and fast (...) But Bruce just methodically took him apart. He slammed the kid into a rock wall and trapped him. He bloodied his mouth...and rammed him into that wall about three more times just to show he could have him against that wall any time he wanted." - Bob Wall (Recounting an actual fight occurring on the set of Enter the Dragon)

Let's re-look at the aforementioned scenario of Lee facing off against a highly skilled grappler like Royce Gracie. Let's remove the rules of the UFC and put them into actual combat. Could a lightning fast finger-jab from Lee be the determining factor of the outcome?

"His finger-jab (...) was in your face before you knew it. He studied body motion and the physical signs that developed before any action actually began. He could notice the small clues and react to them thereby intercepting your motion."

- Bob Bremer

It's almost creepy to realize Lee could thrust his fingers through unopened steel cans of Coca-Cola, at a time before cans were made of the thinner aluminum metal. But considering Lee's other documented physical feats supported by reliable sources, it all sort of makes the quick finger-jab a little less creepy, relatively speaking. For instance, his striking speed from three feet away with his hands down by his side reached five hundredths of a second. That's about as long as it takes for you to blink. He could perform push-ups using only his thumbs and he could snatch a dime off a person's open palm before they could close it, and leave a penny behind. He could also hold an elevated v-sit position for long durations, and something many body-builders have difficulty with; from a standing position he could hold a 75lb barbell straight out in front of him. To amaze visitors, he would thump the ceiling with a 300-lb (136 kg) bag with a thrusting side kick.

It remains an intriguing "What if?" speculation, the iconoclastic founder of "sophisticated street-fighting" competing in the UFC. Unfortunately, it is something we will never see nor predict with absolute certainty. However, one thing is certain; the "Little Dragon's" passing in 1973 has left a great legacy that continues to influence the martial arts to this very day.

"It's a shame a great martial artist like Bruce had to leave us so soon, but I feel he accomplished more in his lifetime than most people will accomplish in 70 or 80 years, so I don't feel that he was really short changed. (...) It is not how long you live, but what you accomplish while you are living. (...) I think he lived a full life."

- Chuck Norris

The Legendary Bruce Lee

Movie Review - The Minus Man (1999), Part 2

(Continues from Part 1.)

One faint light of redemption in the whole movie flares up briefly in the form of the flickering attraction between the sociopath Vann and the warm and vivacious postal co-worker Ferrin (Janeane Garofalo) who falls for him. But Vann is not entirely cooperative and he can't help revealing the ugly layers hiding under his cool and collected surface despite Ferrin's obvious availability.

The imaginary detective duo of Blair and Graves (Dwight Yoakam and Dennis Haysbert) add interesting flashbacks and dream sequences, an deepen our understanding of Vann's background. Without such scenes we wouldn't know whether Vann was troubled at all with his past life and deeds.

But in the final analysis, Vann is a guy who quips more than once that "a spider crawled in my ear once, but then he crawled out because nobody was home." The vacuum in his soul is beyond hope. He is beyond salvation. That's true. But he proves to be beyond detection and justice as well.

The ending of the movie is a departure from the well-accepted Hollywood formulas, worthy of the French cinematic tradition.

All actors in this Hampton Fancher written and directed piece perform well above the average. Owen Wilson, who so frequently appears in frivolous romantic comedies, proves that he is more than a just pretty face good at only injecting his preppy characters with commercially-safe buffoonery.

Mercedes Ruehl is hypnotizing in every role and she doesn't fail in this one either. In terms of sheer on-screen presence, she reminds me the Oscar-winner Helen Mirren.

Brian Cox, on the other hand, is our new Emmet Walsh -- a character actor with an unsuspected depth, explosive power and mountains of held-back reserve. He is hard to figure out and is just plain amazing.

And I forgot the number of times I've watched Dwight Yoakam as a sheriff or a detective. That must be a record for a bona fide music mega-star. He is really getting typecast.

If you like thrillers and murder stories, this one is definitely recommended. An 8 out of 10.

LR Baggs X-Bridge and Fishman TSV Powerbridge Piezo Guitar Systems

Face it even James Hetfield looks like a wuss when he picks up an acoustic guitar. So what makes you think you have a snowball's chance in hell of retaining your dignity when you strap on your prized dreadnought? Instead, try slipping one of these to discreet piezo bridge systems onto your Tele, Strat or Strat-style guitar. You'll get not only convincing acoustic tone but an array of exciting new voices as well-including the shouts approval from your band and audience.

L.R. Baggs X-Bridge

The X-Bridge is designed to replace the two-post tremolo unit and the American Standard Strat. (L.R. Baggs also makes hard-tail and vintage six-hole trem Strat replacements.) The X-Bridge is our review Strat-a budget model of the "hecho en Mexico" variety-looked like a U.S. standard trem until you got close enough to see the piezo-filled saddle indents and the Wilkinson-style arm. The other modifications for the bridge electronics-a stereo output and piezo master volume that replaces the center tone control-were totally discreet.

Our X-Bridge Strat was complemented by L.R. Baggs Ctrl-X onboard mixer, which allows the passive magnetics to be combined with piezo bridge pickups. While it requires small but permanent modifications to your guitar-installation of a larger stereo jack and two small switches-the Ctrl-X allows you to select the magnetic or piezo pickups or both, adjust their levels with separate volume comtrols and select a combination mono or split-stereo output. The under-the-pickguard 9-volt battery powers the buffering circuitry for the piezos while leaving the magnetic pickups totally passive.

The X-Bridge not only made our review Strat sound acoustic-it made it sound a lot better than an entry-level guitar. Running the piezo and magnetic signals together produced a dense, stereo wall of tone. Shuddering electric riffs were under-pinned with tight acoustic clarity, and flowing piezo chords had a dark undercurrent. The X-Bridge is the fourth Strat pickup that you have been waiting for.

Fishman TSV Powerbridge

The TSV Powerbridge is almost indistinquishable from the original American Standard Strat replacement bridge. (Fisherman also makes vintage Strat and vintage American Standard Telecaster versions.) The trem unit's push-in arm requires no cosmetic changes, and only the included stereo jack and piezo volume control (which replaces the lower Strat tone control) need to be substituted for the original components. The optional Fisherman Powerchip includes a "Smart-Sensing" stereo output to differentiate between blended mono and split stereo leads and an active piezo volume control. The Powerchip fits most guitars and requires no modification other than the installation of a battery under the pickguard.

Our test Strat also came with Fishman's optional Powerblend pedal. In addition to allowing smooth and silent mixing of the piezo and magnetic signals, the Powerblend provides dedication piezo conditioning, eq and four outputs that allow the signal to be sent to single or multiple destinations.

The tone of Fishman piezo was a little more powerful and zesty than Baggs. The eq on the Powerblend helped remove some top-end clatter and provide balance to the two signals, and the results were particularly convincing. In general, the Fishman has the more modern tone of the two units reviewed, and also benefited from less handling noise during us of the tremolo unit.

Death, Spirit Possession & Mediums - Sometimes Souls Don't go to The Light

We recently heard of a case where an eight year-old girls
aunt died of lung cancer and since the young girl was so
close to her aunt, she told everyone to call her by her aunts
name, insisted that her aunts clothes were hers, and began
stealing her fathers cigarettes (her aunt died of lung cancer
from smoking). At 33, the girl, now a woman, still likes
to go by her deceased aunts name. She asked us if its
possible she could be a medium for her deceased aunt. We
told her the following.

What you are likely experiencing is called spirit possession
or attachment. Instead of going to "the Light" when she died,
your Aunt (her soul) chose to stick around. Souls choose to
stay for various reasons, such as to watch over loved ones,
because they're afraid of "hell" (especially common with those
personalities who were very religious), or to feed addictions.

Though she probably means well, at the very least, your Aunt
is draining your energy. We recommend reading "The Unquiet
Dead" by Dr. Edith Fiore. This is an excellent book on the
subject and an interesting read. You'll be surprised to learn
how common possession is. In the back of the book is a great
script we've used many times to gently send lost souls to "the
Light."

Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation floating around
out there about this ghostly topic. A certain very well-known
psychic who, for years has been making the rounds on TV
talk shows, claims that there is "...no such thing" as possession.
Her simple, dismissive statement about this serious and often
misunderstood subject is an injustice to the ground-breaking
work done by researchers like Dr. Edith Fiore, Irene Hickman,
Dr. William J. Baldwin, Dr. Shakuntala Modi, and others.

Moral of the story: Unless a seer is an expert in the area they
comment on, it's best to be careful about what you accept from
them as truth. Even the best psychics do not have all the answers
and are unable to provide absolute truth 100% of the time because
they, like everyone else, sometimes have trouble putting aside
their human "filters." Everyone has their own unique fears and
defenses, along with their own unique personal belief systems.

Possession, though not nearly as dramatic as the exaggerated
scenes in the Hollywood movie The Exorcist, is very real and
common. However, most attachments are just lost souls, like
hitch-hikers, and simply need to be directed home.

Music Producer Information

Let's take an in-depth look at some different music producer information. A music producer is also known as a record producer. They have various job functions to perform, such as focusing on the recording sessions helping the musicians organizing and scheduling the promotions, productions, and the budget.

They also supervise the initial recording of songs, along with any mixing and mastering the process. The music producer also helps create, and make the music the best it can be and make sure it flows into the albums vision or designs. They are also responsible for the paid technicians, musicians, and can even choose music for an entire album.

The pay of the music producer changed rapidly after the first independent producer came along in the mid 1950s. Then the studios, which allowed people to come in and pay for an hour or two of time, caused even more change. Many of these were former record company employees.

Since the role of the music producer changed, so did their influence on the music industry, singers and songwriters as well. There are many famous music producers known today such as Don Kirshner, Mickie Most, Rick Rubin, RZA, Dr. Dre and Timbaland. Those are only a few of them and there are even hundreds more out there.

The salary of a music producer can vary depending on where they work, what clients they represent, and their location. The amount of time they have spent in the business also plays an important role on the salary as well. Once you have considered these parts in then you have to look at their education level as well and what schools they attended.

Some music producers only get around 20 thousand a year while others can make up to and more than 1 million a year. This can almost be compared to one single hit versus to a hundred chart topping singles and albums.

Deciding to or focusing on the music industry is a life altering experience and can be the difference between living well off for the rest of your life to barely making it or worse yet not making it at all. I hope this music producer information has been helpful.

If you have the desire in you to become a music producer then you owe it to yourself to check out the free music producer course video ready for you to watch at Ryan's website. For more great music producer information check out http://www.squidoo.com/music-producer-course/

Guitar Lesson: Learn To Play Popular Melody On Your Guitar

There are many ways to notate music on the guitar. You can use sheet music easy to understand when you have learned to read sheet music. To learn to read sheet music on the guitar is however not so easy for many students.

What different ways are there to notate guitar melodies?

1. You can use guitar sheet music. The advantage is that it is universal, meaning that other instrumentalists will understand the notation.

2. You can use guitar tablature. A tablature staff consists of six lines representing the six strings on a guitar. Number on the lines indicate what fret to press down. Guitar tablature is very common on the net and is a widely used.

3. Use another system.

4. Describe with words how to play the melody on the guitar.

In this article I will use an easy system that doesn't need a staff and I will also describe how to play the melody on the guitar with words. We will learn to play the melody Happy Birthday To You.

How to read the guitar notation

The first number tells you what fret to press down. The second number what string to play on. An example:

1/2

This means, press down the first fret on the second string.

Let's play Happy Birthday To You. We can divide the song into four parts:

1. Start by playing the open third string twice. When you play a string without pressing down a fret is called to play an open string. Then you press down the second fret on the third string and the open third string. Play the first fret of the second string and the open second string. It will look like this:

0/3 0/3 2/3 0/3 1/2 0/2

2. Play the open third string twice. Play the second fret on the third string and the open third string. Play the third fret of the second string and the first fret on the second string. It will look like this:

0/3 0/3 2/3 0/3 3/2 1/2

3. Play the open third string twice. The third fret on the first string and the open first string. The first fret string two and open second string. Second fret on the third string. It will look like this:

0/3 0/3 3/1 0/1 1/2 0/2 2/3

4. We finish the song by playing the first fret first string twice. Open first string and first fret second string. Third fret second string and first fret second string.

1/1 1/1 0/1 1/2 3/2 1/2

Learning to play the song Happy Birthday To You on guitar is a good investment. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, "Happy Birthday to You" is among the top three most popular songs in the English language.

Teaching English in Japan

What's the best way to go about teaching English in Japan? The good news is that there are quite a few. Some of them even offer you a free plane ticket!

I'm probably biased here, but I'd say the best English teaching job in Japan is the Japanese Government's JET Programme. That's how I first came to Japan. It stands for "Japan Exchange and Teaching" Programme, and although you will probably be in schools teaching English for several hours a day, the main aim of the programme is to get local communities used to foreign faces. Just imagine if in your town back home no one had ever seen someone of a different race or culture, only on TV. Well that's what most of Japan is like. You're basically paid to be a foreign face!

The JET programme brings over several thousand people every year and disperses them all over Japan, from the snowy north of Hokkaido to the tropical south of Okinawa. And no, you usually can't choose where you'll be! Although you can give a preference. The government also pays for your flight over.

It is a great job, but it's very much "every situation is what you make it". If you're independent, can come up with ideas to spend your time and abilities, and have the patience and people skills to open people's eyes but at the same time respect their thoughts and positions, it's the job for you.

Otherwise you might consider a straight teaching job, without any of the "internationalization" responsibilities. If you were wanting to speak Japanese, you'd want to learn from a native Japanese speaker, wouldn't you? And it's the same in Japan, people want to learn English from real native speakers. These "eikaiwa" jobs, as they are known, are plentiful in Japan. As the pay and conditions aren't always super wonderful they are sometimes refereed to as "mac jobs", but if you are the sort of person to make the most of any situation it's a great chance to visit an exotic country, meet the people and get paid for it.

The top of the chain is to start your own school. That's probably a little way off for you yet, but it always pays to have a long term goal!

In any case, enjoy your time here. It's a great place to live and teaching English in Japan is a fantastic way to give something back.

It's the job of a lifetime, but many people fail at the interview. To make a great impression try this Teaching English Online Video Workshop. Or have a look at the author's website for games, help & ideas you'll be using in the classroom.
